Sir Winston Churchill, circa 1973
Bronze, with deep brown patina
Height 52cm (20½ in)
Roberts-Jones was dedicated to figurative work and founded the (still-active) Society of Portrait Sculptors in 1953. His fame rests largely on his full-length public sculptures - his monument to Churchill for Parliament Square is by far his most celebrated work and arguably the last grand commemoration of its kind.
The present bronze by Roberts-Jones was acquired recently on behalf of a Private Collector.
